Art is intuition icarnate.
We believe that artistic expression accomplishes that which a logic and rationalization cannot: an intuitive understanding of how things are.
It transcends the need for patterns and frameworks and embraces that which cannot be quantified.
In this way, to create and explore through creation is to be mindful.
How do we use art to enrich our understanding of science?
-
Collaboration
We work with a variety of artists and scientists to collaboratively digest concepts in ecology. Our goal is to use both ways of thinking to create a holistic understanding of the world around us, one that pulls from the intuition of the artist and rationalization of the scientist. We often find the two overlap.
-
Reinterpretation
Our work with an artist or creative starts with reinterpretation. To begin, we ask them what they believe a given scientific concept means within the scope of existence and experience of life. This often catalyzes conversation, which in turn embellishes the creative output.

Communication and Interaction
Every piece of collaborative art we put forth is interactive. By this, we mean that you, the end user, can get more from your experience by peering into the minds of the creatives we work with. They talk about their inspiration, emotions during creative expression, and how their work ties into their larger narrative and our collaborative mission.
